Frogs of Aristophanes. Marosoulis, in collaboration with Volos, presents one of Aristophanes’s most innovative comedies, Vatrachos, for the summer artistic season 2018, directed by Kostas Philippopoulos. In the “Vatrachos” comedy, which was taught in Linea in 405 BC, Dionysus, disappointed by the misery of the dramas presented in Athens, as the great tragic have died, descends to the Lower World in order to bring back a great poet, capable of saving the city from the decline. For this purpose, he organizes a poetic fight between Aeschylus and Euripides, defining Pluto himself as the best of the two to return. And better for Aristophanes, who mercilessly satirizes the modern customs, and then his then representative Euripides emerges Aeschylus. Aeschylus will be the winner.
