The Municipal Library of Katerini is housed in the Convention and Intellectual Center of the city (Ekavi), on the 1st floor of the building. Its collection numbers 23,800 volumes of books, including informational, and covers the full range of knowledge in the fields of Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, Social Sciences, Language, Natural Sciences, Applied Sciences, Technology, Fine Arts, Entertainment, Literature and Rhetoric, Biographies and History. There are also 165 DVDs with lectures from the Parents School. In addition to the adult section, there is a children’s section dedicated to children and adolescents with books of many categories such as novels, fairy tales, illustrated stories, educational books, books on nature, sports, space, mythology, etc. The program used to automate the list is ABEKT 5,6. The thematic indexing of titles is based on the thematic headings of the archive of established returns, mainly of the National Library and their classification in the Dewey taxonomic system.
