In the OLYMPUS Geological History Museum we can follow the evolution of Mount Olympus through geological time . The museum includes exhibits such as minerals and rocks from Mount Olympus as well as fossils from the surrounding area, and they are especially interesting to those who are interested in finding out about the evolution of the fauna and flora of the area. In the museum the visitor can see and learn how GLACIERS have affected Mount OLympus, how the mountain is affected by erosion and how caves (KARST) are formed.

Furthermore,someone can admire the minerals that are referred to in the ancient text “Of Stones” or ”Lithika” of ORFEAS, who lived at LEVETHRA at the foot of Mount Olympus. The archaeological site of LEVETHRA is situated close to the town of LEPTOKARYA. Apart from the Exhibits of the Olympus Geological History Museum, in an adjacent hall ,works of art such as Mosaics, Paintings and woodcarvings are exhibited which refer to Mount Olympus and Orfeas.
